Eleven weddings, nine weeks on E4, and not a single surviving marriage. Married at First Sight UK 2024 matched more strangers than any series except the 2023 run, and the scoreboard nearly two years later reads zero. The short answer: series nine aired on E4 from 16 September to 14 November 2024. Eleven couples took part. Two of them, Lacey Martin with Nathan Campbell and Sacha Jones with Ross McCarthy, said yes at the final vows. Both pairs separated within weeks of filming. As of August 2026, none of the eleven are together.

Who said yes at the final vows?
Four couples made it to the vow renewals across 13 and 14 November 2024. Only half of them wanted to carry on.
- Lacey and Nathan: both said yes, the youngest pairing of the series and the closest thing to a happy ending on the night.
- Sacha and Ross: both said yes, after a run that had already survived a leave vote at the sixth ceremony.
- Amy and Luke: Amy said no, calling the marriage finished in blunt terms that became the most replayed clip of the finale.
- Polly and Adam: Polly said no, and Adam left the vow renewal without giving an answer of his own.
Two yeses from eleven weddings. That is the thinnest result the British version has produced since it took on the Australian format in 2021, and it is the number the series will be remembered by.
Are any Married at First Sight UK 2024 couples still together?
No. Not one pair from series nine is together in 2026, and not one of those eleven marriages ended quietly enough to stay out of the papers afterwards.
Lacey and Nathan were finished shortly after filming wrapped. They blocked each other on social media and have spent the time since contradicting each other in interviews. Sacha and Ross lasted about a fortnight past the cameras. Ross was publicly seeing someone new while the series was still going out, which left Sacha visibly hurt at the reunion.
Polly moved to Australia and has said she cannot see a friendship with Adam. Amy has been clear that she will not speak to Luke again.
Rebuilding in public is its own job, and British television is full of people who have done it, from soap actors to presenters. Christine McGuinness after her separation is the version most viewers recognise: the split becomes the story, then the work becomes the story again.
Why you cannot rewatch series nine right now
This is the part every older guide misses.In May 2026, BBC Panorama broadcast a documentary about the programme. Two women who had appeared as brides alleged that they were raped by their on-screen husbands, and a third described a non-consensual act. Channel 4 removed every episode of the British series from its streaming service, from linear broadcast and from its social channels.
Channel 4’s chief executive said she was deeply sorry. An external review of contributor welfare followed, and the holiday firm TUI ended its sponsorship. A cross-party committee of MPs wrote to the broadcaster and to Ofcom. The Metropolitan Police asked anyone with allegations to come forward.
Checked on 6 August 2026, the show’s page on Channel 4 still reads: no episode available to watch on demand. Clips survive on unofficial uploads, but there is no legitimate UK stream of series nine at present.
The experts, and the loss of Mel Schilling
Three experts made the 2024 matches: Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas. Schilling, the Australian dating coach who had worked on the format since 2016, died on 24 March 2026 at the age of 54. That came weeks after she told viewers her colon cancer had spread. She was part of every commitment ceremony in this series, which gives the 2024 episodes a different weight on a rewatch.
How the experiment actually works
Two details surprise people who only watch the drama.
- The weddings are not legally binding. No marriage licence is signed, so the ceremony carries no force in UK law. Nobody from series nine had to undo anything on paper.
- The votes are written, not spoken. At each commitment ceremony, both partners write stay or leave. Two leaves end it. One leave keeps the couple in for another week, which is how Alex and Holly, then Amy and Luke, stayed in the process after a partner had already given up.
The vow renewal at the end is symbolic too. It is a promise on camera, nothing more.
What the class of 2024 did next
A two-night reunion on E4 in February 2025 was the last time most of them shared a room. Since then, the cast has scattered into podcasts, gym partnerships, cosmetic work documented on Instagram and, in a few cases, a quiet return to the day job. Amy went public about a hair transplant. Polly left the country.
None of them has yet built the sort of second career that Olivia Attwood turned her reality fame into, which is the realistic benchmark rather than the norm. Most reality contestants get about eighteen months of attention. This group spent a good part of theirs answering questions about who lied at the dinner parties.
How many people watched series nine?
Plenty. Series nine averaged 2.09 million viewers an episode on seven-day consolidated figures including E4 plus one. Week one was the weakest at 1.89 million. Week two was the peak at 2.21 million. Those are strong numbers for E4, and they explain why a format with such a poor record on lasting marriages kept coming back.
